Introduction to Astropolitics

This event takes the form of a presentation followed by a Q&A session. It offers a basic introduction to astropolitics, exploring why space has become an increasingly important arena for political and strategic action. The presentation will focus on the growing significance of space travel for security, the economy, communication, and state capacity. It will also address the question of why developments in space are no longer merely technical or scientific matters. Key state and private actors, their interests and objectives, and current dynamics of competition, power and order in space will be examined. The event is particularly aimed at those wishing to gain an initial, solid understanding of the political and strategic dimensions of space travel.
